Montrose? Where is that?
That was my initial reaction when I saw the address for Basin 141. Well, if you also don’t immediately know where Montrose is, let me make it easy for ya: Montrose is nestled near La Cañada-Flintridge+Glendale+Pasadena area. From North Hollywood, it was a short & painless 25 minute drive! Best part? Parking was abundant and ridiculously easy to find. SCORE!
WHAT TO EAT | Basin 141 has the perfect mix of traditional yet upscale pub fare – like their k-town wings and pork belly nachos – and surprisingly, homey comfort foods that totally scream LA – like carnitas tacos, fish tacos and fried potato tacos (like my mom used to make!).
MY FAVORITE BITS| The warm and melty cheese on the pork belly nachos that’s made with beer. The smoky chipotle aioli on their fish tacos. The fact that they make handmade tortillas. The beer selection (!!!). The EVERYTHING about the potato tacos! They remind me of the ones my mom used to make growing up, need I say more?
